Welcome to Owlets R!
The children have completed their first half term at Barden and are totally fabulous. They will continue to have lots of fun investigating the learning landscape talking about their learning adventures.
Our new theme for the second half of the Autumn Term is 'Magical Mayhem!'
The children will be invited to join Magic School. They will become apprentice wizards and delve into their imagination. Creating potions, magic wands, flying on broomsticks, inventing spells and going to the Magic shop!
We will move on to elves and fairies and other magical creatures and adventures. We will really encourage children to use their imagination and create magical stories and worlds.
We will find out about the festivals of Divali and Christmas.
We will be sharing the book - 'Room on the Broom' by Julia Donaldson, 'Meg and Mog' by Helen Nicoll, 'The Christmas Magic' by Lauren Thompson and 'Aliens Love Panta Claus' by Claire Freedman.
Every morning we have fun with Fred Frog practising and learning new sounds and words in the Read Write Inc sessions. Following this we have communication time,, when we listen to a story and answer questions about it. We have Magic Maths, learning new mathematical knowledge in a fun way followed by book time and writing. In the afternoon we have story time, rhyme time and Vocab Ninja! Each afternoon has a different focus - Re, Music, Woodland Adventures, P.E. Circle Time, Our Wonderful World, Healthy Heroes, Create and Imagine and lots more! Finishing off the day with Key Person time, where children have a chance to chat, have a healthy snack and to review the day's learning. We learn in our inside and outside classroom in all weathers!
PE Day - Every Friday - We are focusing on functional motor skills in our PE lessons. Running, jumping, hopping, throwing and catching. We talk about the changes that happen to our bodies when we do exercise.
Outside Adventures - Every Thursday - We like to investigate the environment around us including the woodland area on campus and our local environment.
